Exercise Equals Fitness
The first of three essential keys to
wellness - nutrition and weight management.
Second key - improving fitness.
We all want to look
fit and trim, but most people really
have a difficult time truly achieving
"a good body."
Physical fitness has long been recognized
as a desirable trait for appearances’ sake. In
other words, we all find well-muscled men
and slender, shapely women attractive. But
exercise confers much more than a good
appearance.
Research confirms that regular
exercise is associated with a reduction
in risk for development of many
diseases, including heart disease,
cancer, diabetes and arthritis.
We know that exercise boosts the
effectiveness of your immune system.
Regular exercise can help lessen the
symptoms associated with premenstrual
syndrome. Elderly women are far less likely
to break bones if they exercise. Damage
to your weight-bearing joints is less likely
to happen if you maintain a healthy body
weight throughout your life. Weight loss and
weight maintenance are infinitely easier to
achieve the more muscle mass you have. In
fact, for every one kilogram of muscle you add, you need
an extra 110 calories per day to maintain it. That means
that the more muscle you have, the more you can eat!
We live in an information-enriched world, so the
facts about the value of fitness are easy to find.
In addition to reading this article (and photocopying
it for your customers), click onto
exercise- and fitness-oriented Internet sites to
hear and see more. If you have any medical
problems or are over 35 years of age, it is
prudent to check with your physician before
launching into any more than a
walking program.
The best way to stay in an
exercise program is to find an
activity that you like to do.
If you hate running, it’s unlikely that you will enjoy
going out in the cold, the rain, the heat, etc., to pound
the pavement! If you are embarrassed to be seen in
workout clothes,
then joining a gym probably won’t be the best way for you to
get fit. If you like sports, find a local adult league or club
in which to participate in that particular sport (baseball,
football, skiing, etc.). There are gyms that are for “women
only” that may be more comfortable to be at and
have the side benefit of being a way to meet people
(for business building and socializing). Make
exercising fun and not a chore!
The overall goal is to participate in
some activity, ideally aerobic and
weight-training activity, three to
four times per week for 30 to 45
minutes.
That means committing to one to three
hours per week to achieving greater
fitness. We all need to be able to find that
amount of time to give to our health. The
benefits include more energy, an easier time
losing and maintaining your weight, less aches
and pains and multiple long-term health benefits.
Additionally, you will find yourself sleeping better and
dealing with stress much better!
Having the energy to exercise comes from good
nutrition.
Since getting all the vitamins and minerals your body
needs on a daily basis is difficult–especially when
you’re dieting–supplements can be very beneficial. Herbalife’s Cellular Nutrition® Program - Formulas 1 Protein Drink (or Thermojetics® High-Protein, Low-Carb Shake Mix), Formula 2 Multivitamin Mineral & Herbal Tablets and Formula 3 Cell Activator is a great start.
Boost your antioxidant
intake by eating fresh fruits and vegetables and adding in RoseOx™, Schizandra Plus, Extreme C, Cardio ToconOx™ and Ocular Defense Formula. By neutralizing free radicals,
antioxidants assist your body’s immune system,
its healing processes and may slow the aging
process–all very important for overall health as
well as muscle building and general fitness. Be
active–and healthier–for life!
